The police watchdog is now investigating
Northamptonshire Police is being investigated over its response to concerns for a man’s welfare before he died in a major collision on the A45. The collision on March 1 took the lives of two drivers and led to the dual-carriageway being closed for hours.
Mark Meagan, 52, who was driving a Ford Kuga, and a 40-year-old DAF truck driver from Hertfordshire were both pronounced dead at the scene. whether relevant policy was followed after concerns were raised over Mr Meagan’s welfare. A spokesperson from Northants Police told Northants Live the following day that a "mandatory referral" had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct . The police watchdog declared an independent investigation and sent investigators to the scene of the collision.
