Damage was also caused to doors and frames inside the place of worship
Hundreds of pounds was stolen from charity boxes at a mosque in Tameside . A man is reported to have walked into Ashton Central Mosque on Hillgate Street in Ashton-under-Lyne on Monday 9 September 2024 between 5:30am and 8:45am.
"Officers believe this could be linked with several similar burglaries across the country" the force added in a statement. It was accompanied by an image of a man officers would like to speak to.
