The independent police watchdog has confirmed an investigation has been launched into Greater Manchester Police after a woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in Hyde.
The incident was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct , who told the Manchester Evening News they 'sent investigators to the scene' due to prior police contact.An IOPC spokesperson said: “We can confirm we are independently investigating an incident involving Greater Manchester Police after a woman was seriously injured at a property in Hyde, on Friday .
“Our investigation is in the very early stages and GMP are conducting a parallel criminal investigation.” In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 11pm on Friday 28 June 2024, we were called to Grosvenor Road in Hyde due to the concern for the welfare of a woman.
