Wes Streeting, the health secretary, has told Sky News he has 'settled with the chancellor' ahead of her Budget next week.He told Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips: 'I'm not going to get into specific figures. I've settled with the chancellor, but we're not going to fix 14 years in one budget.'He also said he is still 'banging the drum so hard for reform'.'Three fundamental shifts' are needed in the way the NHS works, Mr Streeting said.
'In a matter of days, we're going to be sending crack teams of clinicians into hospitals to improve productivity,' Mr Streeting said. 'We're going to have our elective recovery plan that will get NHS waiting lists down faster, and a budget that will help us to fix the foundations of the NHS. We've done that in just three months.
