Defence secretary Ben Wallace has ruled himself out of the Conservative Party's leadership contest.
This week the culture secretary warned that the"hounds of hell have been unleashed" after Boris Johnson announced he would be stepping down from his position. On the timeframe for finding a leader, Sir Geoffrey said the candidates should be whittled down to two by summer recess on 20 July, with a final answer by the time of party conference in October.As Boris Johnson prepares to step down from his role as prime minister, members of the 1922 Committee executive, which will decide the timetable for a leadership election, want his successor in Downing Street by 5 September.
Mr Berry, whose organisation represent Conservative MPs in the north of England, also said that the NRG would be"hosting hustings for candidates" in the coming days. The Tory MP made the sign with her hand as she walked through the black gates, prior to being named education minister.
