It was called 'Hotel Pontinental'
A Pontins hotel that was once on the Costa del Sol offered two-week holidays for £55 to customers decades ago.

At the same time Southport Pontins came on the scene, the new 'Hotel Pontinental' opened in 1970 in Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol.
But a number of images featured also offer insight into what it was like, two years after it first opened. At one point, Pontins also had other hotels and holiday camps abroad, in the likes of Cala Mequida in Majorca and Pineta Beach in Sardinia.Part of the brochure reads: "Continental breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared by a first class chef and menus are carefully chosen, meals being served in the spacious dining room which also overlooks the sea.
The inland side of the hotel also boasted a giant swimming pool and guests could enjoy everything from tennis to a crazy golf course. Offering holidays from Gatwick Airport between March and October 1972, the basic inclusive tariff in pounds - not long after decimalisation was introduced - covered a two week holiday to Pontins on the Costa del Sol. To fly on March 24, 1972, it cost £55 for adults children aged seven to 11 went for £45 and for children aged three to six it was £35.
