The Tavern Bar in Parkhead has been operating under the same family for 23 years and they announced last month that they would be stepping down.
It was not known if and when a new owner would take over and if they would continue to operate the venue as the Tavern, which is popular with football fans and supporters' buses. Now the team have confirmed that punters will still be able to enjoy a pint at their 'favourite wee pub' after theA spokesperson said:"Some good news has finally been confirmed for the Wee Tavern - the doors will officially be staying open!
"Although it will be under new management we know our regulars and supporters buses will be pleased to hear they can still visit their favourite wee pub in Parkhead and Christie can't wait to have a pint with you all once he hangs up his boots. "We all look forward to heading along and supporting the pub once the changeover happens at the end of May but until then we can't wait to celebrate what has been an amazing 23 years under the guidance of Mr and Mrs G!Regulars reacted to the news that the Tavern would live on as it was, with one commenting:"Great news."
