Portsmouth fans stormed the pitch at Fratton Park with flares to celebrate their return to the Championship.
Pompey haven't played in the second tier of English football since 2012 when they were relegated as a result of a ten-point deduction that came as a result of financial mismanagement.Promotion was secured thanks to a 3-2 victory against Barnsley, who made the trip to Fratton Park with ambitions of securing promotion themselves.

Responding to their success, talkSPORT's Jamie O'Hara took to social media and wrote: "Pompey are backkkkkkkk get in the boys." Former England and Portsmouth goalkeeper David James also wrote: "Get in Pompey," while another ex-player wrote: "Up the Pompey!" Portsmouth were relegated from the Premier League in 2010 to kickstart an era in which the club entered administration on two occasions.Since then, the club have slowly built themselves back up and will now look forward to life in the second tier for the first time in 12 years.However goals from Kusini Yengi, Colby Bishop and Conor Shaughnessy were enough to get the job done and clunch the title to cap off a stellar season.
