Jacob Farrell has completed his transfer to Portsmouth ahead of Championship opening day
Portsmouth have bolstered their squad with the signing of Australian left-back Jacob Farrell ahead of their forthcoming Championship clash with Leeds United.
Farrell, who was part of the squad that lifted last season’s AFC Cup, is Pompey’s sixth new face of the summer alongside the likes of Josh Murphy, Jordan Williams and Jordan Archer. Manager John Mousinho previously admitted he is finding transfer business tougher in England’s second tier of English football.
But Mousinho is delighted to have Farrell on board. “Jacob is a fantastic young prospect who joins us on the back of a great season with Central Coast Mariners," the Pompey boss told the club website. The Australian will have little time to adjust to English football before facing the dynamic attacking threat of Willy Gnonto, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville on the opening day.
