) - New details in a deadly shootout at a west Mobile car dealership parking lot revealed it may have been about a car deal.
Mobile Police said he and a Palmer’s Airport Hyundai employee both pulled out guns and shot each other. Ty Burden, a long-time family friend of Rowe, said she got a frantic call last Tuesday night that he was dead. “It was over a petty amount of money and a car deal that went wrong,” said Burden. “That kind of violence can happen amongst grown men is appalling, and for someone’s life to be taken is just inexcusable.”
Burden said Rowe went to the dealership to help a friend with a car deal. She said there was an argument over money, and Rowe and an employee both fired shots at each other.According to MPD, both were taken to the hospital where Rowe died.“He was so sweet, and just his personality was huge,” she said. “He was really a very bright light, and we are going to miss him very much.”The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office said it cannot comment on the case, citing grand jury secrecy laws.
