Visitors flocked to the Texas musician’s Dallas Cowboys-themed restaurant for a chance to win concert tickets — and bask in the glow of an ordinary dude who made it.Tasha Do and Vine Le take a selfie in front of the 1971 Ford F-150 parked outside a Post Malone-and-Cowboys-themed Raising Cane’s, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, in northwest Dallas. The truck was used to create the album art for Post Malone's new album, "F-1 Trillion.
“We made a day trip out of it,” said Larissa Perley, 26, who’d come from New Braunfels after hearing about the truck on Facebook. She lightly bounced her baby girl in her arms as she explained how the F-150 got smashed up at a photo shoot in Mexico. She’d seen a video: the blue Fordover a lake only to plunge into the water, thus mangling its hood.
Inside the restaurant, lit with blue neon and flanked with memorabilia, an 18-year-old from New Zealand named Eleanor Robbins scribbled a note to Malone and slipped it inside a mail slot in the wall titled “Post 2 Post,” whose contents reportedly get delivered to the musician. Robbins had been traveling around the States with a friend when the duo heard about the truck on TikTok and took an impromptu trip to Dallas. “Worth it,” she said.
The exterior of the Raising Cane's restaurant in northwest Dallas has a 32-foot-tall Dallas Cowboys star that cars drive through. Inside and outside of the star, silhouette images feature Texas musician Post Malone.A photo of Post Malone displayed on the wall of the Post-Malone-and-Cowboys-themed Raising Cane’s on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024 in Dallas. What kept coming up about Malone was not his flash or fame but his ordinary dude-ness.
