Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou was left fuming after his side suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal in the North London derby. He criticized his team's performance, particularly the first half, calling it 'way too passive' and 'not good enough'. Spurs remain in the bottom half of the Premier League table, struggling to find consistency.

Ange Postecoglou launched a scathing critique of his Tottenham squad following their disheartening derby defeat against Arsenal , labeling their performance and recent form as 'unacceptable'. Postecoglou 's team struggled to create any meaningful threats throughout the 2-1 loss, with Pedro Porro's last-gasp shot off the post from an improbable angle representing their closest attempt at a second-half response.

Spurs remain languishing in 13th place with a mere one league victory - against bottom-placed Southampton - since their triumph over Manchester City in November, while Arsenal continue to eye the coveted title. The gulf between the two teams is stark, with Postecoglou's side precariously positioned just eight points above the relegation zone. Their next challenge comes against Everton, who are also engaged in a battle to avoid relegation, on Sunday in a live broadcast on Sky Sports. When questioned about his assessment of the performance, Postecoglou expressed his profound dissatisfaction: 'Not good enough, especially the first half which was way too passive. We allowed Arsenal to take control. I was disappointed with us both with and without the ball, allowing them to dictate the tempo. Nowhere near good enough.' He continued, 'That's not who we are. That's not how I set the team up to play. To be sitting in and allowing Arsenal to play just wasn't good enough.'Postecoglou acknowledged the need for immediate improvement, stating: 'There's no magic cure. We need to work hard and go into battle on Sunday and turnaround our fortunes and our season. There are always reasons why things happen but the reality is our results and form in the league has been nowhere near good enough. That needs to change. We just didn't play near the identity of what I want us to be. We're an aggressive team with and without the ball - we showed that against Liverpool but tonight we were way too passive. That's not acceptable. Second half was a little better but it wasn't enough. 'This can't be accepted by anyone at the club, us losing so many games in a league season isn't right. Yes we are asking big jobs but I hope the 18-year-olds are hurting as much as anyone else in terms of not being able to deliver on a big day.
