Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he has no plans to recall Manor Solomon from his successful loan spell at Leeds United this month, despite the winger's impressive contributions for the Yorkshire club.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has stated his intention not to recall Manor Solomon from his loan spell at Leeds United this month, despite the winger's impressive form. Solomon has been instrumental for Leeds, contributing two goals and three assists in his last four appearances, including both goals in his last two matches. This resurgence comes after a season hampered by a meniscus injury in his right knee, which required surgery.
Solomon, who joined Leeds on loan this summer, initially struggled with a hamstring injury but has since established himself as a key player, accumulating four goals and five assists in 21 matches. Meanwhile, Tottenham are currently facing a challenging period, occupying 15th place in the Premier League table with 12 losses from 22 games. In an attempt to bolster their squad, the club have brought in reinforcements this month, including goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague and right-winger Min-hyeok Yang from the K-League in South Korea. There had been speculation surrounding the possibility of Postecoglou recalling some of his loaned-out left wingers, particularly Solomon and Bryan Gil, who is playing for Girona. However, Postecoglou categorically denied any such plans when questioned. Solomon's arrival at Tottenham coincided with Postecoglou's appointment as head coach in the summer of 2023. Should Postecoglou's tenure at Tottenham come to an end, Solomon's future at the club could become uncertain. Reflecting on his recent form in an interview with LeedsLive and other reporters following Leeds' 2-0 victory over Norwich on Wednesday, Solomon expressed his satisfaction: 'I'm really happy that in the last two months I've been feeling much better and I'm feeling really good. And I'm happy that that boss has given me confidence and him letting me play my game. I just want to show results.' He further elaborated, 'I’m feeling really good, feeling that I'm back to myself. I'm feeling happy, confident. My injury is okay right now and I'm behind it, so yeah I'm happy I think I can get even better and I just want to continue like this.'
