Part of a proposal that was presented to clubs on Thursday, 14.75 per cent of the pooled media rights will be given to the EFL next season.Such a deal could double the amount of solidarity payments that are granted by the Premier League, which is currently at £130million.
As well as this, the EFL will get a bonus payment of £88million this season, with 2028 the start year for the collective selling of TV rights. Furthermore, the New Deal for Football will see the Premier League pay an extra £130million-per-year for the second, third and fourth tiers. The latest decision is set to ensure that clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two will receive funding in line with top flight sides.
