The Premier League have condemned ‘unacceptable’ Hillsborough chants from Chelsea fans during their Premier League clash against Liverpool.
Vile chants about the Hillsborough Stadium disaster were heard during the goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.
Ninety-six football fans died as a result of a crush in the 1989 Hillsborough disaster. After a 27-year campaign by victims’ families, the behaviour of Liverpool fans was exonerated. ‘We regret any offence these chants may have caused and will continue to work with supporters groups and officials from both clubs to eradicate hateful chanting from this fixture.’
