The Premier League of Darts is back for 2025, promising another thrilling season of competition. Eight top players will battle it out over 17 weeks, with the top prize of £275,000 on offer.
The Premier League darts runs every Thursday night over a 17-week period, visiting different cities across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands. Eight of the world’s best players will compete for a top prize of £275,000, alongside £10,000 for the first 16 nights. Littler won on his debut appearance last year, quashing concerns he would not be able to handle the pressure.
The final four players are then selected by the PDC based on their performance over the past year and suitability for the arena format. The Premier League is known for being a real psychological challenge for players – it limits time spent at home and can become a pretty miserable place if it goes wrong given it lasts nearly four months. Discussing this year’s line-up last week, PDC chief executive Matt Porter said: “We have to look for the star quality and people who can perform on the big stage. “It’s going to be an interesting announcement. We’re certainly not going to please everybody but we feel we have to make the decisions that are right for the millions who will watch on TV and the 150,000 who will join us in the big arenas
