Jurgen Klopp has called for Liverpool's match with Tottenham to be replayed
Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool’s match against Tottenham Hotspur should be replayed due to the controversial decision to disallow Luis Diaz’s goal for offside.
Diaz was flagged offside after scoring, but replays showed he was actually onside. But Darren England, the VAR, mistakenly believed the on-field decision had been to award the goal, leading him to tell Simon Hooper, the referee, that the check was complete. And according to leading sports lawyer Stephen Taylor Heath, co-head of sports law at JMW Solicitors, under rule L18, the Premier League could enforce a reply.
“In addition to this, under rule W1, the Premier League’s board has the power to inquire about any suspected breach of rules, including those made by a match official, while rule N4 ensures that each match official agrees to be bound by the laws of the game as well as any protocols and FA rules.
