Newcastle midfielder Joelinton has been left devastated after his home was targeted by burglars for the second time in less than a year
Joelinton, Newcastle's Brazilian midfielder, has made a heartfelt plea for privacy and safety on Instagram, after experiencing another break-in at his family home in an area known locally as Millionaire's Row. The distressing incident occurred on Thursday night at his Darras Hall home in Ponteland, about 20 minutes from Newcastle, during the current international break.
At the time, a Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Thankfully the homeowner was not home but had received a security alert on their phone and immediately reported concerns to police." Officers were sent to the house, but there was no-one in side, the force said. "We hope for a community where our children, and everyone's children, feel safe. We ask that our home be respected as a safe space for our family. We simply want to live in peace."
According to local news site ChronicleLive, Northumbria Police confirmed they received a report of a burglary on Thursday, November 14, evening.
