LeBron James has declined to comment on his future with the Los Angeles Lakers following the team’s elimination from the playoffs. Speaking after LA’s 108-106 defeat to the Denver Nuggets, James refused to reveal whether or not he had played his last game for the Lakers.
DAVID MUNDEE Behind two of the top individual scores, the Pike Liberal Arts boys team won the Class 1A-2A, Section 1 golf title at the RTJ Cambrian Ridge Golf Course in Greenville, winning a close battle over Elba.
All four teams advance to the Class 1A-2A South 1 Sub-State round next Tuesday, also at the RTJ Cambrian Ridge course. The four will be joined by four teams from Section 2. Pike Liberal Arts’ winning effort was sparked by medalist Braden Prestwood and by Jackson Cleveland. Prestwood finished with a 70 and Cleveland was right behind at 71, tying for second place with Samson’s Coy Ingram, who qualified for sub-state as an individual. Bayshore Christian’s Michael Heaton and Waylon White rounded out the top five individuals.
Elba was led by Jay Wilson with a 75 and Trace Grantham with a 77. Powell Bane followed with an 84 and Alex Wisecup with an 86. Kade Harrison had a non-team counting 97.
