In a thrilling turn for women's sports, the WNBA is witnessing a remarkable 93% increase in ticket sales, ignited by the arrival of fresh talents such as Kaitlyn Clark, the first overall pick, Angel Reese, and other notable players.

DAVID MUNDEE The Abbeville Christian softball team made a run in the losers bracket on Friday but fell short of reaching the AISA Class AA championship game.

Abbeville Christian won a pair of 7-4 decisions early Friday to reach the losers’ bracket finals, rallying late to beat Patrician Academy and holding off Southern Academy. Hope Kennedy belted a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning for ACA’s first run. It was Kennedy’s third homer of the tournament. Conleigh Benefield had a two-run single during a three-run third with the other run scoring on an error.

The Generals trailed 4-2 with just three outs left but scored five runs in the top of the seventh to stave off elimination for a 7-4 win over Patrician. Alli Kate Causey then reached on an error and Kennedy followed with her three-run homer to center to put ACA in front.
