Preston Bus, facing the loss of five routes, is implementing significant changes to its network, impacting various routes across the city. These changes include timetable adjustments, renumbering, and alterations to operational areas.

Preston Bus , owned by the Rotala group, has announced significant changes to its service network, impacting various routes across the city. The company confirmed losing tenders for five services: 25A, 45, 76, 78, and 114, prompting a review of its service structure. These changes, set to take effect on March 30, 2025, include minor timetable adjustments on several routes, including the suspension of Sunday evening journeys on service 6.

Notably, service 16 will see increased frequency from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday, but journeys beyond Preston Bus Station to and from the railway station will be withdrawn. Several other routes will experience renumbering and changes in operational areas. For instance, services 19 and 19A will be renumbered as 19A and 19S respectively, with an additional journey introduced during weekday mornings between Preston and Fulwood ASDA. Service 31, which previously had its route altered to avoid residential areas plagued by badly parked cars, is slated to revert to its original route. However, due to ongoing work by Lancashire County Council to implement parking restrictions, this change will not be implemented until later in 2025. The company emphasized that the re-routing of service 46 via Tom Benson Way will no longer serve Tanterton and Ingol. The proposed changes will be subject to public consultation until January 31, 2025. Preston Bus encourages passengers to provide feedback on the planned alterations.
