There have been celebrations across Preston this week as year 13 students received their A Level results.Cardinal Newman had almost two-thirds of A-Levels A* to B and 80% of BTEC grades at Distinction* or Distinction. With an overall pass rate of 99.5%.This years’ results have positioned them as the highest performing sixth form college in the Northwest – according to the recent league tables produced by The Times. As well as the only Ofsted outstanding sixth form college in central Lancashire.
“This years’ results are fantastic, and our students are heading off to some truly inspirational destinations. I am so proud of how well our students have done. These results, as ever, are a testament to the hard work that they put into their studies, as well as the dedication of our unbelievably talented staff.”
They are the only college in Lancashire to have been recognised by Ofsted in making a ‘strong contribution to meeting local skills needs’. Their recent results have only reinforced the positive impact that their technical curriculum has in responding to local and regional skills priorities. “These results show that we continue to deliver in line with our vision of transforming lives through education, enabling our learners to progress to higher level study or employment and making a positive contribution to meeting skills needs in Lancashire.”
