A man in his 50s was taken to hospital for treatment
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on Riversway in the Ashton-on-Ribble where it meets the junction with Pedders Lane. Lancashire Constabulary shut the road for two hours as paramedics responded.
Officers said the driver of one of the cars, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment on 'minor injuries'. The road was shut at around 4.20pm and reopened two hours later.In a post on Facebook at 4.29pm, Preston Police said: "Please can we make you aware of a road closure following a road traffic collision on Riversway at the junction with Pedders Lane. Please find an alternative route.
A second post at 6.29pm said: "***GOOD NEWS*** Following our earlier post, we can now confirm that Riversway at the junction with Pedders Lane is now re-open. Thank you for your patience." A force spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called to Riversway, Ashton-on-Ribble, at around 4pm yesterday to reports of a collision involving 2 cars.
"The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 50s was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The road was closed for 2 hours."
