“I am proud of the support the campaign gained in such a small period of time when I initially announced that I would stand and, I’m really proud of how much the community has come together to make sure I’m okay now that we have a different candidate, it’s the Preston spirit and community that I’ve come to love during my time here. I’ve had supportive messages from people from all three major parties in our city and I’m massively appreciative of those messages in this frustrating time period.
Former councillor Borrow stood down shortly after the May local elections – releasing no statement or comment on his decision – in a ward where Preston Labour lost a seat to the Liberal Democrats as a result of anMark Routledge, a former councillor in Ashton-on-Ribble for many years, has been selected to fight in the ward. He stood in the Sharoe Green ward in May’s elections and came second.
