Cases have been transferred to neighbouring courts in Preston city centre
Preston Magistrates' Court has been forced to close for months after RAAC concrete was found in the building. Cases due to be heard at the city's court have been transferred to neighbouring sites with immediate effect.
His Majesty's Court and Tribunal Service reviewed 350 court buildings and conducted surveys on 103 which were built between 1960 and 1990, when the concrete was widely used in construction. Of the sites surveyed only two - Preston Magistrates and Harrow Crown Court, were closed after it emerged the concrete had deteriorated.
