The giant new mural has been created by artist Shawn Sharpe.

A beautiful mural depicting a mother cradling a lamb has transformed a huge wall on the side of a bar in Preston. The masterpiece on the side of Hogarths gin bar on Church Street has been created by graffiti artist Shawn Sharpe.

The striking painting is called Mother and it shows a brunette women with piercing blue eyes and an intricate floral tattoo on her neck and arm. The dark complexion is contrasted with the pure white of the baby sheep in her arms. A huge blue 'Preston' has also been worked into the side of the stunning portrait. It is located next to Preston Minister and is believed to be the artist's first public mural in the city. Shawn’s design was inspired by Preston’s crest – the lamb of St Wilfrid, the patron saint of Preston. It joins a number of street art to add a splash of colour to Preston, including a previous ode to hit Netflix show Squid Games.

Artists including Gavin Renshaw, Chris Dorning have completed murals on the side of buildings, including at the back of the Black-A-Moor pub on Old Vicarage Street and T. Snape Printers and Co in Boltons Court.
