Licensed venues across the city are to ‘wand’ customers for knives as part of a police scheme launched with Preston City Pub Watch.has secured funding from LanPac for 12 knife wands for use in premises throughout the south of Lancashire.
“It’s about businesses taking responsibility for the safety of their customers and ultimately encouraging more people to enjoy the great night-time economy that Preston has.” Serna Baxter, Chair of Preston City Centre Pub Watch, said venues across the city centre work ‘tirelessly, individually and in partnership’ to ensure that Preston remains a safe and enjoyable place for a night out.
