While the country battles cold freezes and torrential downpours, a trifecta of breakfast classics are flying off the shelves. If you're a gym-goer bulking before the spring cut and curious to know the nutritional values, the pots offer 22g and 14g of protein respectively. The breakfast pot is available for £3.99. Pret A Manager has a reputation of being one of the more expensive coffee shops on the high street but this is pretty good value for money given the size, weight and potential to grab on-the-go. Wrapped up with an empty stomach I made my way to Pret to see if I - someone who typically skips breakfast - can be persuaded to regularly purchase a mini fry-up on the way to work. I'm pleased to reveal the protein pot is better than expected. Pret's hot breakfast won't compete with a builder's fry-up from your local but it's still pretty impressive. There are four bitesize sausages atop a bed of beans, with a pre-cooked boiled egg on the side. The meat was the most impressive feature boasting a gentle, peppery taste. I began taking small nibbles but quickly devoured the remaining sausages with a single bite. As they were covered in tomato sauce, they went down a treat. Eggs can be divisive for fussy eaters but Pret's are nothing to worry about as they're thoroughly cooked. I would've loved the beans to be a little softer as the shell's texture was noticeable but aside from the latter, I'd order the breakfast again.
