'I can't believe I'd never visited before'
It's no doubt that there are some stunning coastal walks around Merseyside, and I stumbled aross a new one last weekend.
My personal favourite Wirral beach walks are Thurstaston and New Brighton, but now, I've found a contender. North Wirral Coastal Park offers four miles of huge sand dunes, grasslands and hay meadows from Derby Pool in Wallasey to Meols.As soon as I reached the sand dunes, I felt an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia remembering visiting Wales with my family as a child.
Despite the beach being busy at the time, it didn't feel overcrowded, which can be off-putting at times. After continuing down the path, I came across Leasowe Castle Hotel and the Leasowe Lighthouse. This walk offered lots of variety, and wasn't too tiring which was great for a Sunday. Whilst visiting, it was so clear to see how popular this spot is, with joggers, families, and even people with yoga mats walking by.
