The former Uintah County attorney has been charged with voyeurism and stalking after allegedly recording female employees using the bathroom at his law office. A 65-year-old man from Southern Utah, previously convicted of murder, has been sentenced to prison for possessing a firearm and ammunition unlawfully.
Joseph Charles Gardner of St. George, was found with a handgun and ammunition despite being prohibited from owning firearms due to his prior conviction. Gardner was granted parole in 2020 after serving nearly 30 years for murder, where he shot and killed a woman, removed her clothing, and left her body in the desert.Convicted Utah felon given access to ammunition, potentially guns by AP&P agent"In the fall of 2022, Gardner conspired with a coworker to conceal and dispose of stolen firearms," a news release stated.
During an investigation, officers discovered that one of the stolen firearms, a 9mm handgun, was in Gardner’s possession. They confirmed that this gun matched the type of firearm used in the 1990 murder case.
