The school has received a 'good' rating from Ofsted
A ‘friendly and welcoming’ school where ‘pupils are happy’ and ‘staff are proud to work’ has retained its ‘Good’ grade following an Ofsted inspection. An inspector visited Oswaldtwistle West End Primary School in July who determined the establishment ‘continues to be a good school’.
The inspector observed how ‘pupils learn and play well together’ and they were praised for treating staff and each other with ‘kindness and respect’. The report continues: “Older pupils show the youngest pupils how to behave well and how to make good friends. The inspector noted ‘well-trained staff’ deliver the curriculum successfully and reading is ‘at the heart of the school’s curriculum’. In addition, the inspector says the school’s curriculum and phonics programme has ‘strengthened’ which has ‘ensured pupils’ knowledge builds in carefully ordered steps’.
