Shoppers have been desperately trying to get their hands on the Prime drink today
Shoppers who had queued through the early hours of this morning were left disappointed at one Aldi store in Leeds after it sold out of the hugely sought-after Prime drink "within minutes".
Aldi announced on Wednesday that it would be selling three flavours of the drink for £1.99 each. Shoppers were limited to one bottle per flavour. But stocks flew off the shelves leaving many disappointed. In Yarm, North Yorkshire, despondent customers walked away from the supermarket after not getting their hands on a ticket that enabled them to buy a bottle of the drink.
In nearby Teesside, shoppers queued from as early as 5.30am in the hope of getting their hands on the illusive drink. One customer who braved their weekly shop at the same time as the release said the drink had sold out within ten minutes.
