Anthony Albanese has confirmed when the date for the Voice to Parliament referendum will be announced.
The Prime Minister is set to reveal the date on August 30 in Adelaide and commence a six-week campaign advocating for the Voice in the lead up to voting day.
“Very soon, our nation will have a once-in-a-generation chance to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our Constitution and make a positive difference to their lives with a Voice,” Mr Albanese said on Wednesday. “Next week the date will be announced. I will be campaigning for constitutional recognition. Because if not now, when?”
