Meghan and Harry name royal baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor – and he will NOT have a royal title
The hyphenated surname Mountbatten-Windsor is in keeping with a royal tradition established by the Queen to differentiate her direct descendants from the rest of the House of Windsor.
Archie was the 18th most popular name for boys in England and Wales in 2017, according to the latest available figures from the Office for National Statistics.Some 2,803 baby boys were named Archie in England and Wales in 2017. Another said: “I think Archie’s quite a cute name, though I was expecting a Spencer chucked in there somewhere.”Among the bookmakers’ tips had been Alexander, Arthur, Albert, James and Philip, while Spencer was a late favourite.
“Although both names are unusual in royal circles, Archie is rising high in the UK popularity charts and is currently ranked at No 18 while Harrison has also climbed swiftly to reach 34.
