Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are spending Christmas in California with their children, embracing a more intimate celebration compared to their previous Sandringham traditions.
Prince Harry 's Christmas celebrations have shifted to a more intimate gathering in California with his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Previously, the Duke of Sussex enjoyed the traditional Sandringham Christmas , complete with family gift exchanges on Christmas Eve, church services, a classic Christmas Day lunch, a Boxing Day pheasant shoot, and numerous party games.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward described it as 'the present opening on Christmas Eve with his extended family and then church and traditional Christmas lunch the next day. Then the Boxing Day pheasant shoot and in between loads of party games and drinking.' Since his 2018 marriage to Meghan, Harry has celebrated at Sandringham only once, opting instead for the 'happy holidays' traditions of his new home. This year, Meghan's mother Doria is their only family company during the holidays, as Meghan suggested at a recent event. They plan to enjoy festive meals, games, and possibly a guitar-led singalong at their Montecito residence. Ingrid added that they'll likely choose a Christmas tree from local stores, decorate their house and yard with festive lights, and Meghan will personally decorate their home and tree, adhering to her self-proclaimed 'all-American homemaker' image. While Harry and Meghan create a cozy atmosphere in Montecito, their royal relatives are gathering at Sandringham for their customary Christmas festivities
