The Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake is still in “conception phase” princeofpersia ubisoft sandsoftime popsandsoftime
Ubisoft has announced that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is still in its conception phase after initially being revealed in 2020. The popular video game publisher has also stated that the studio is currently in the process of “building up the team, defining priorities, developing prototypes, and testing gameplay elements.”
Considering the project was made public a little less than three years ago, it definitely comes as a surprise that production on the remake is still yet to begin. After suffering a couple of delays during its early stages, it had been reported thatwould be taking over development so many assumed that it had already begun during this time.
Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai were originally the studios tasked with working on the game, but were eventually replaced though the reason for this decision was unspecified. According to a previous from the Prince of Persia group, however, they noted that “this decision is an important step” and that the team would build upon the work already done.that there are currently no other plans to remake any other installment in the Prince of Persia series. Naturally, a release date has also not been set at the time of writing seeing as the game is still in its conception phase.
The well-known Assassin’s Creed publisher went on to mention that “existing pre-orders have been cancelled and refunded where applicable,” which indicates that we may be looking at a rather long waiting period. They would go on to note that “pre-orders may reopen once a new release date for the game has been announced,” but since they are yet to specify when this is, we’ll just have to standby with our wallets intact until then.
