Prince William gives England players a special send-off as he presents them with their World Cup squad numbers 🏴
The presentation started with captain Harry Kane, who will wear the number nine.
Kane will join an illustrious club of six players to have captained England at more than one men’s World Cup when he wears the armband in Qatar. Billy Wright, Bobby Moore, Bryan Robson, David Beckham and Steven Gerrard have all previously had the honour of being captain at least twice.Jordan Pickford keeps the No.1 shirt. Fellow goalkeepers Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale have the No.13 and No.23 shirts respectively.Jack Grealish has been handed the No.7, which is what he wore at Euro 2020, while Jordan Henderson has been given the No.8.
Further down the squad, Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will have the No.18 on the back of his shirt, while Jude Bellingham has moved to No.22, which is his Borussia Dortmund squad number.Bukayo Saka has moved from No.25 to No.17, the Arsenal star getting the number that has been worn by Jadon Sancho, who didn’t make the squad.Maguire keeps his number six jersey
