Senior royals have an important set of rules laid out when it comes to travelling to ensure that the future of the monarchy is protected and these restrictions come into play for the heirs at a young age.

When it comes to flying overseas, a number of important rules are put in place to ensure the King and other members of the Royal Family are protected when travelling abroad and some of them are truly astounding.

At the moment, Prince William is allowed to fly abroad with his three young children as they are only small but this will change in just a few years to come, the Mirror reports. "After that, he had to have a separate aircraft and we could only fly all four together when they were young with the written permission of Her Majesty.

It's not yet known whether the young prince will continue to travel with his mother and siblings while the Prince of Wales uses a separate plane, or if the second-in-line to the throne will be the one to fly solo. Prince Philip's sister, Princess Cecile, passed away during a crash in 1937 while the late Queen's uncle Prince George, Duke of Kent was killed in an accident in 1942 as well as her cousin, Prince William of Gloucester, who died while competing in an air show in 1972.
