But he told them:"Protecting the environment was a cause close to my grandmother's heart, and I know she would have been delighted to hear about this event and the support you are all giving our Earthshot Finalists - the next generation of environmental pioneers. The contest is inspired by JFK's Moonshot Project, and hopes to inspire environmentally conscious innovators of the future.He told this year's Prize 'summit' meeting via the video message that he knew the world was in"an uncertain place right now" and that many families and communities were facing"unimaginable challenges - from conflict to energy crises and food shortages".
