Princess Anne has travelled to Scotland for a busy day of royal duties, including a sombre visit to the site of the 1988 Lockerbie aviation disaster.
Princess Anne has lived up to her reputation as the hardest working royal and ticked off four major engagements in a single day including an emotional visit to the site of Britain’s worst terror attack.
On Monday, Anne started her week by travelling to the MacRebur plastics factory in Lockerbie to meet with the company’s manufacturing staff. In 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was downed by a bomb concealed onboard that killed all 243 passengers and 16 crew. Her fourth and final engagement saw the Princess Royal head to the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow about 7pm, about 80 kilometres away, to attend a reception as patron of TS Queen Mary.
