Two individuals wearing black appeared to be spray painting the tower on a livestream video shared to YouTube.
by JACKSON WALKER | The National DeskPro- Palestine protesters vandalized a bell tower on the campus of North Carolina State University early Tuesday morning, a campus spokesperson told The National Desk.
Protesters painted the words “Gaza,” “Rafah” and “Free Palestine" on the school’s Memorial Belltower, according to images circulating social media. The tower was also reportedly covered in red handprints.shared to YouTube. University police are now investigating the vandalism, the spokesperson told TND.the scene as an “atrocious vandalization of our WWI Memorial Bell Tower on Memorial Day.”by the school in 1937 to honor NC State alumni killed in World War I.
Similar vandalism appeared on campus at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill . The campus’s South Building was covered in handprints and red paint earlier this month. Groundskeepers needed a power washer to remove to graffiti, WRALUNC issued a stern warning earlier this month to professors who withheld students’ grades as part of a protest against the school’s investments.
“The provost's office will support sanctions for any instructor who is found to have improperly withheld grades, but is our hope we can resolve this matter amicably and without harm to students,” the office
