The New York City Police Department is investigating the vandalism. New York City Mayor Eric Adams called it “overt, unacceptable antisemitism.”on X. “These actions will never be tolerated in New York City for any reason.

New York Assemblymember Robert Carroll called the protesters “vile,” adding that while people are free to protest and debate, the incident didn’t involve either.saidThe protesters echoed a demonstration at the museum earlier this month urging Pasternak to pull her investments. Some demonstrators set up tents and banners inside it while others waved Palestinian flags and clashed with police outside.
