About a dozen protesters stopped westbound traffic on the Hamilton Fish Newburgh-Beacon Bridge over the Hudson River Monday morning.
BEACON, N.Y. - The demonstrators say the civil disobedience was to call for a free Palestine and to bring attention what they say is 'the ongoing genocide perpetrated by Israel against the people of Gaza.' New York State Police said the protesters were taken into custody. Similar protests were taking place around the country. In Chicago, protesters blocked the entrance to O'Hare International Airport.
It's the first time the state of Iran has directly attacked Israel.
