The prospect of the Reserve Bank delivering a cash rate cut as early as next year is “extremely low” according to ANZ, which estimates the probability of a large negative shock to the Australian economy as being equally low.
“It would be into 2024 before the RBA feels any degree of comfort about rate cuts for the second half of 2024,” Mr Plank said in a presentation to clients on Tuesday.
