London mayor Sadiq Khan has confirmed 'feasible solutions' for all elements of a new Overground line from Hounslow in west London to Hendon in the north, with a total cost estimated at between £430m and £610m.
Plans for a new Overground line from Hounslow in west London, to Hendon in the north, have progressed after London mayor Sadiq Khan confirmed there were 'feasible solutions' for all elements of the project. The scheme includes carrying out design work, subject to financial constraints. In 2021, Transport for London (TfL) estimated the total cost of the project to be between £430m and £610m.
The proposed route starts in Hounslow before following the existing South Western Railway course through Isleworth, Syon Lane, and Brentford. The service would end in Harlesden and Neasden, before potentially splitting in two directions - one to Hendon via Brent Cross, and the other to West Hampstead via Cricklewood. Four new stations would be built along the route of the West London Orbital
