Michael Wilson has 58 court appearances for 184 offences on his record

A prolific Nottingham criminal with an incredible 58 court appearances to his name is back behind bars for going “back to his old tricks again” to fund his drug addiction. Nottingham Crown Court heard how Michael Wilson used a bank card stolen from a car in Mapperley to pay for cigarettes and tobacco at petrol stations across the city.

“They were in Daybrook, Westdale Lane, Carlton Road, and Mansfield Road. On each occasion, cigarettes or tobacco had been bought. He has 184 offences to his name including 110 for theft or similar acquisitive crimes, the prosecutor said. Chris Brewin, mitigating, said he wanted to ask the judge to defer sentence as his client has not offended in the past near three years which would give him an opportunity to show the courts he can continue to remain out of trouble.
