Lawmakers hope to have the bill in effect by October 1.

The trend of squatting trucks has garnered a following, but lawmakers are saying it’s not safe.DOTHAN, Ala. - The practice of squatting involves installing a lift kit in the front of a vehicle and suspending the rear of the vehicle or leaving it the same.“While I was working on a different bill, one of the officers down in Dothan had an incident where they were working an accident and one of the squat trucks nearly hit them. That’s just not safe,” said State Representative Ron Bolton .

The bill would require vehicles on public roads and highways to have no more than a four-inch incline, creating more visibility.
