Rochester , N.Y. —A group is pushing for a scenic byway to highlight historic sites along the underground railroad , which would pass through Rochester .
Kühl is among those involved in the Underground Railroad Consortium of New York State, advocating for the State of New York to designate a scenic byway leading to several sites along the ""It is a tourism route, so nearby here is the Cayuga Lake scenic byway," explained Kühl. "Locals can learn from the byway that goes around Cayuga Lake including Cayuga, Tomkins, and Seneca Counties. It is a physical road, so it is a driving tour that individuals can explore.
"It is a multi-year process. It is a corridor management plan that needs to be developed and the steps for that are clearly defined by the New York State Department of Transportation so we are providing them with our proposed route so far."
