The proposed single ticketing system for traffic violations would improve the traffic situation in Metro Manila as it will rid the roads of irresponsible drivers, the chief of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said Tuesday.
“Indirectly, this will really improve the traffic situation dahil nga po kaakibat po ng pag-implement ng single ticketing system, mamo-monitor na po natin at malalagyan ng demerit points ‘yung mga erring motorists natin,” Transportation Assistant Secretary and LTO chief Jose Arturo Tugade said during PTV’s public briefing.
Tugade said that through the single ticketing system, the government can make sure that the privilege to drive will be given to responsible drivers.The LTO is conducting consultative meetings with various stakeholders to iron out details of the proposed ticketing system.
