MacLachlan was repeatedly knifed to death.
Andrew Palfreman, 28, was given a life sentence in January this year and ordered to serve a minimum of 12 years behind bars having been convicted of the murder of Barry MacLachlan.
Palfreman repeatedly knifed the 33-year-old at the flat in Glasgow's Lambhill in July 2021 after a trivial dispute about a dog. The thug later claimed he had been defending himself and was affected by someone in his head called"Mr Darkside". But, jurors at the High Court in Glasgow were told Palfreman forwarded"despicable" photos of a stricken Mr MacLachlan to others.
It has now emerged prosecutors will look to have the 12-year punishment part imposed by judge Lord Summers increased on the grounds it was"unduly lenient".
